Our Mission

Our mission is a simple one. It was given by Jesus to his disciples before he went back to heaven. GO ye therefore and TEACH all nations, BAPTIZING them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. TEACHING them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and lo, I am with you alway even unto the end of the world. Amen. [Matthew 28:19-20]

There are four components of this command. We believe this statement made by our Lord to be the core mission of the New Testament church. GO, TEACH, BAPTIZE, and TEACH again.

Go

We understand GO to mean just that. You won’t find us sitting in the building waiting for people to walk through the door. We believe in going to people and presenting them with an opportunity to connect with Jesus Christ. Our regularly scheduled outreach activities reflect our commitment to this component of Jesus’ command.

Teach

We believe that sound teaching builds strong Christian character. We can’t experience the spiritual transformation in character God requires without the Word being taught. Jesus said in order for people come to him they must be taught [John 6:45]. Every service, activity, gathering, meeting, etc. will always have as its underlying purpose, teaching and instruction. Teaching, instruction [2 Timothy 2:25] and learning [Matthew 11:28] play vital roles in every thing that we do, prior to and after baptism.

Baptize

After a person has been taught properly, we are to encourage and simultaneously assist them in baptism [Romans 6:3-5], which puts them into Christ, the church and washes away their sins.

Teach

After a person has been taught the gospel, been baptized and becomes a Christian, the process of spiritual growth cannot take place without a consistent diet of the Word of God. Jesus said to teach them to observe all things. This process of leaving the world behind in thoughts, words and deeds when one becomes a Christian cannot be achieved without the strong, consistent, spiritual food of the Word of God being presented and taught.
